Re-imaging Salford is the newest exhibition within the Blue Stairs gallery at Salford Art Gallery & Museum and features the work of BA Photography students from the University of Salford.

Using archive photographs drawn from Salford Local History Library, students made use of these images as a starting point to rephotograph and interpret those areas today. The exhibition explores a theme of time passing, to document the subtle and not so subtle changes to Salford’s social, economic and industrial heritage. The images compare, contrast and thoughtfully interpret a Salford transformed, unchanged or long since vanished; together these images provoke memory and thoughtful reflection of Salford’s dynamic history and its path going forward.
Year one students present their work in book form, while prints form the basis of year two students’ work.

The exhibition runs from Saturday 3rd May until Sunday 29 June in the Blue Stairs Gallery.
